The British Superbike Championship is over the halfway point with the next meeting coming up at Thruxton on the weekend of the10th/11th August. 

At the Snetterton meeting in early July Glen Irwin doubled up by winning 2 of the 3 races overall which extended his championship lead to 4 points in appalling weather conditions but this did not stop Storm Stacey living up to his name by securing his maiden Bennetts British Superbike championship victory.  It was his first ever BSB podium achieved in his 128th superbike race so a huge Well Done to Storm !  A true wet weather masterclass of a race !

But it was all change again at Brands Hatch mid-July which saw Ryan Vickers dominating the races and the reigning champion Tommy Bridewell securing podium finishes to overtake Irwin in the standings by 19 points.  A crash at Brands on Saturday lost Glenn valuable points and although he was declared fit to race on Sunday he was having to manage shoulder pain so understandably this affected his racing.

Moving on to Thruxton this weekend the standings look like this:

Tommy Bridwell (Honda Racing)  217 points

Glenn Irwin (PBM Ducati) 198 points

Christian Iddon (Oxford Products Racing Ducati)  193 points closely followed by

Kyle Ryde (OMG Grilla Yamaha Racing) with 185 points

Christian Iddon is having a great racing season and we wouldn't rule him out completely of securing one or more podium finishes this weekend.

Ryan Vickers is currently 6th in the standings with 146 points but he has some ground to make up if he's going to catch any of the top 4 riders but never say never ............................................... so much can change in one weekend in this motorsport.
