Potters Bar Carnival

What a very hot and sunny day for the Potters Bar Carnival on Sunday.

Always a vibrant community event with plenty going on for all ages to enjoy.

At the Duncan Perry stall we had three raffle prizes on offer.  If you could guess the name of the roads the Dolls House and Batcave were in then you were a winner - Elsa Mews for the Dolls House and Hulk House for the Batcave. Two very happy little people are enjoying those prizes.  If you could guess the starting price of the 'Hicks' style bungalows in Potters Bar in 1935 you were the winner of the M & S Hamper.  The starting price was £695 although no-one guessed it absolutely correctly so the prize was offered to the nearest bidder which was £685.

More information may be available on the Carnival by visiting www.pottersbarcarnival.co.uk

British Superbike Racing 2024 Season

A great opening round of the British Superbike 2024 season took place on the weekend of the 20th/21st April at the Circuito de Nevarra in Spain. Ryan Vickers riding for the OMG Grilla Yamaha team made history by winning his first ever double which puts him at the top of the Championship.   Both his team mate Kyle Ryde and fellow rider Danny Kent on a McAms Racing Yamaha team bike also featured in the top 3.

Unfortunately, the current BSB Champion Tommy Bridewell who claimed the trophy last season riding for the Ducati team but who is now racing for Honda Racing UK had a disappointing opening round when he was forced to retire from the podium fight in the second race.

As all bike followers will know this is just the opening round of the season and everything can change very quickly as the season progresses. All racers favour different circuits in the UK and our weather conditions have a huge impact on the outcome of a race but Vickers is making his mark already.  It will be interesting to see whether he can maintain his lead at the next round taking place at Oulton Park on the weekend of 4th to 6th May.

Racing can be watched live at www.eurosport.co.uk

North Mymms Youth Project

In recognition of sponsoring the North Mymms Youth Project their van proudly displays the Duncan Perry logo.

The NMYP was set up in 2010 for young people aged between 9 and 15 in Brookman's Park, Welham Green, Potters Bar and surrounding area.

They meet on a Friday at various local venues and offer a mixture of structured and unstructured activities as well as days out and residential trips throughout the year.

Our sponsorship will enable them to continue funding these activities and helping young people to enjoy life. More information can be found at nmyouth.org.uk.
